Thoughts about internal audit and value added aspects of it

About my blog

In my blog I'm writing about a subject close to my heart - internal audit. Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organisation's operations. It helps an organisation accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

I consider that internal auditors to be successful in their role, they should always speak aloud even the most difficult and thorny issues without a question with diplomacy, while simultaneously comprehend that there may be times for when being silent is needed in order to form a balanced view of the topic or situation.

This blog incorporates my thoughts around external and internal auditing, risk management and compliance. These matters are increasingly topical in public discussions and in corporate and institutional daily work, which is why I decided to start sharing my thoughts on them.

I strive to write about internal audit without useless internal audit jargon, so that the key message is delivered in a manner that even a reader with less experience in internal audit can understand it. I'm addressing topics directly but with a respect because - to add value to others, one must first value others.

I hope you enjoy reading them!
